I realize that beggars shouldn't pose as choosers, but the page loading priority here has become pretty aggravating. I've got a comparatively fast internet connection, so it must be even worse for members still stuck on dialup.

The advertising loads in half a heartbeat, but the actual forum body lags interminably. Any chance of reprioritizing Dennis, so that we can start reading the forum text - while the advertising finishes loading?

I respectfully disagree Dennis. Since I'm on a T1 equivalent, I set my browser to load new pages every time. And every time the advertising loads first. I then wait for up to 30 seconds for your server to actually deliver the forum content. I really do believe it's a matter of prioritization at the webserver.

We went through this one time before, when you first introduced the Google-supplied advertising. At that time, they were taking up more space than did the forum body itself. You were successful in tuning that up, I think the page loading file prioritization may be somewhere down that same street

You got it backwards Jason. I get all the adverts almost instantaneously. It's the forum body and text that takes so much longer to load. I know ad-free forums are few and far between. So I'm not asking for the adds to disappear. I'd just prefer to see the actual forum load, the adds can follow at their leisure.

This activity is not browser-dependent either. Same annoying page load sequence whether I use MSIE6 or FF2. Issue is restricted to TractorPoint, half a dozen other forums I belong load in what I consider a normal sequence. Pretty much the same across the board when browsing. This site is the only one where I have no choice but to read the adds to keep from falling asleep while the actual forum body/text loads.

Well, mine's satellite too; 256 up/1500 down. T1 is 1544, hence my use of the word "equivalent". Since my first post though, the time lag between advertising graphics loading and TractorPoint forum/text loading is now less noticeable. Maybe Dennis is doing some tweaking.
